How to receive inventory
Record what physically arrived and keep inbound, inventory, and client status accurate.
Menus and actions depend on your workspace, plan and permissions. Use the onboarding guide for current navigation. Provider setup and fees may apply; confirm the configured workflow before a transaction.
Before receiving
- Open the inbound or shipment record.
- Confirm warehouse, client, reference, products, and expected quantities.
- Locate goods and check labels, cartons, lots, and expiration dates when applicable.
Record the receipt
- Enter physically received quantity for each product.
- Record shortages, overages, damage, unknown products, or mixed cartons as exceptions.
- Attach packing list, bill of lading, photos, or other evidence when available.
- Save before moving inventory to storage or the next step.
- Confirm inventory balance and status reflect the saved receipt.
Do not hide exceptions
Do not change expected quantity just to make the receipt look complete. Record the physical result and keep the exception attached to the inbound.
