What a location is
A location is a physical place where inventory can be stored, counted, moved, or picked. Inventory Locations is the operational view of those places and their balances.
Create a location
- Open warehouse location setup.
- Choose the warehouse and enter a unique location code.
- Select location type, zone, aisle, rack, bin, or other classification.
- Set capacity, priority, pick eligibility, or storage restrictions used by the operation.
- Save and confirm it appears in Inventory Locations.
Use Inventory Locations
- Review on-hand or available quantity by physical location.
- Move inventory when stock changes physical location.
- Use location priority and eligibility to guide picking.
- Separate damaged, quarantine, overflow, or unavailable stock.
- Do not delete or reuse a location code while inventory or history depends on it.
