How to create an inbound
Tell the warehouse what inventory is coming, when it is expected, and how it should be received.
Menus and actions depend on your workspace, plan and permissions. Use the onboarding guide for current navigation. Provider setup and fees may apply; confirm the configured workflow before a transaction.
Why create an inbound
An inbound gives the warehouse an expected inventory record before goods arrive. It helps the team plan receiving and compare expected quantity with actual quantity.
Create the inbound
- Open Inbound > PO Receiving where your workspace has receiving access. Select the available creation action; if it is absent, ask your administrator to review access.
- Select the warehouse and client account that owns the inventory.
- Add reference, expected arrival date, carrier, tracking number, or purchase order when available.
- Add each product and expected quantity.
- Attach a packing list or bill of lading when useful.
- Save and submit the inbound when it is ready for warehouse review.
Before arrival
- Make sure identifiers match the catalog.
- Tell the warehouse about mixed cartons, expiration dates, lot numbers, or special handling.
- Keep the inbound reference for shortage, overage, or damage questions.
